Bonnaroo returns June 11-14, 2020: Tickets

Last summer, I attended my third Bonnaroo and it felt like returning to a second home. I saw friends I met at the festival in years past, enjoyed unique yet familiar experiences like the one-of-a-kind Superjam, led by GRiZ in 2019, and new experiences that made the festival so amazing to attend. Although the festival is promising its highly-anticipated lineup tomorrow, we’re sharing 8 reasons to gather your friends and buy tickets right now.

Bonnaroovians

I said it once and I’ll say it a thousand times, Bonnaroo hosts the best festival-goers I’ve ever encountered. They care for each other and the festival grounds, spread positivity all weekend and maintain an incomparable high spirit. If you live outside of Tennesee, like me, grab a group of friends and enjoy the scenic road trip. Below are photos from two separate years, same vibes.

All-night EDM stage in 2020

Over the last few years, The Other Stage, the festival’s home for EDM, has evolved into a fire-breathing behemoth, with lasers that pierce as far as the eye can see. This year, not only is the stage going all night but they’re also promising more production, pyro, lasers, and must-see surprises. I’m in.

Sanctuary of Self Love

One of my favorite 2018 moments was seeing Hayley Williams-led Paramore rip mainstage to shreds on a sunny Tennessee day. Hayley returned the following year to curate the Sanctuary of Self Love, a mindful space nestled between GA camping and the festival, made with the intention of helping you recenter and reground throughout the weekend. The sanctuary returns in 2020 with bigger plans.

Yoga and improv dance sessions are expected to take place, as well as soothing deep sound bath rituals for the mind, muscle relaxation, and cell rejuvenation. The weekend will be rounded out by panel sessions offering powerful tools for mental clarity and personal transformation, and for the first time, a healers village where pre-booked 1-on-1’s include massage, aura photography and reiki sessions. The Good Dye Young Hair Salon returns as well.

Where In The Woods

Last year, Bonnaroo expanded yet again with the development of Where In The Woods. A new and interactive getaway lined with arcade games, wall-to-wall paint rooms, and other fun activities. There’s also a stage hosting select performances and in 2020, the festival has sights set on an even bigger production. I’ve only attached one photo because you deserve to see it for yourself (at night).

Top-notch sustainability

I love Bonnaroo’s sustainability efforts. In 2018, the festival shared its annual report and news 351 tons of waste (52%) was diverted to recycling and other processing centers. Amazing. A large part of Bonnaroo’s sustainability success is due to its ongoing effort to educate and include festivalgoers on its larger commitment. They’ve developed rewards programs and have a dedicated team standing at all receptacles ensuring you’re recycling and composting correctly. It’s no easy feat yet Bonnaroo pulls it off wonderfully.

House of Yes, Little Cinema & PRIDE

Last year, Brooklyn’s House of Yes and Little Cinema led the festival’s first annual PRIDE Parade as well as curated a wild barn filled with dance parties, circus acts, drag queens, and more. In 2020, they return to lead with more unannounced surprises.

Galactic Giddy-up

Am I the only one already thinking about all of the amazing people I’ll meet at Galactic Giddy-up? The festival is calling its latest installment “where interstellar vibes meet rhinestone ridiculousness” and I’m ready for it. For this, groop camping is getting its own activity plaza (open to everyone) with community-oriented games, activities, parties, and mixers that help bring the groop community together like never before. Catch competitions judged by celebrity guests, talent shows, Bonnaroovian battle of the bands, comedy open mic sets, and even some good ol’ fashioned line dancing.

New RV Rentals / Glamping

For the first time ever, Bonnaroo is offering RV rentals in GA and VIP, and they look absolutely amazing. Check out the photoset below for a glimpse of one of a few glamping options the festival is extending this year.

They’ve also improved the VIP experience for this year, including a completely revamped lounge, easier access to the festival’s entrance, and its usual amenities of complimentary massages, food, beverages, and more.

Bonnaroo returns on June 11-14, 2020. Purchase tickets here.
