“I’m Ready” is out on Capitol Records: Stream
Following a week of extreme anticipation, Sam Smith and Demi Lovato just delivered on their new single, “I’m Ready.” Proving we actually were not ready at all. In addition to the powerhouse vocalists flexing their golden pipes with ease, the early candidates for song of the summer are seen competing in a variety of Olympian events leading to a medal ceremony as the song reaches its soaring climax.
Quite simply, Smith and Lovato look and sound absolutely incredible in the Jora Frantzis-directed visual. Not to mention, Sean Bankhead’s choreography takes the scenes to an entirely new level. Sam and the wrestlers completely devour their dance numbers on the mat while in heels no less, meanwhile, Demi commands the synchronized swimmers with ferocity. It’s just an all-around knockout performance by the megastars, and if it’s not on repeat, it’ll inevitably be stuck in your head.
“I’m Ready” will appear on Sam’s third studio album, due later this year. The track marks the first taste of new music promised following the recent announcement their record is temporarily postponed. In typical Sam Smith fashion, this latest single follows a long string of successful releases for the global superstar. Most recently, “Dancing with a Stranger” with Normani, “How Do You Sleep?” and “To Die For.” Selling millions of records in the process and amassing billions of streams as well.
Demi’s also got her foot on the gas this year. In addition to dropping her recent upbeat track, “I Love Me,” the start of 2020 saw the multi-talented artist debut her ballad “Anyone” at the GRAMMYs and perform the National Anthem at Super Bowl LIV. A clear indication she’s back and better than ever. Stream “I’m Ready” – available now.
