MGMT RELEASE THEIR 4TH ALBUM LITTLE DARK AGE. Read our full review.

In October 2017, MGMT announced “Little Dark Age,” the title track off their forthcoming effort. The news came as a major surprise for fans that anxiously awaited the group’s return for fours years. A music video accompanied the LDA news a few days later, and it became undeniably clear a major comeback was in the works.

Now, the day we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. Little Dark Age is out now. Truthfully, it may be the group’s strongest album since their 2007 debut, Oracular Spectacular, which produced some of the group’s most radio-ready, inexhaustible hits. With Little Dark Age, the duo continues to experiment with their sound, while also generously flashing glimmers of the catchy psych-pop and synth-heavy melodies that have permeated throughout their previous albums. The new album is noted to be a commentary on the current political and social state of the world.

Aside from the singles released, our early favorite is “One Thing Left to Try.” We’re also loving the tracks “TSLAMP,” “She Works Out Too Much,” and “Days That Got Away.” Luckily, the U.S. will get to experience the new album live quite soon. The duo just wrapped up a short tour in Europe, and will be kicking off their U.S. tour in March. They’re also slated to play Buku and Firefly later this year. We can only hope they’ll announce a summer tour as well. Stream Little Dark Age.
