Flume’s new album Palaces is out now via Future Classic

On June 9, 2022, Washington D.C.’s The Anthem welcomed Harley Streten, the Australian producer known globally as Flume, who achieved his first major breaks in 2012 with his self-titled debut album and his 2016 follow-up, Skin, which earned the DJ his first Grammy win for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2017.

Arriving on the heels of his latest album, Palaces, Flume delivered two huge nights, equipped with a career-spanning set that included amazing surprise moments and a blended setlist of euphoric highs and the mind-bending production and bass drops that have long characterized his sound.

Flume’s music is revolutionary to electronic music in the same way artists like ODESZA and Kygo have broken into and transformed mainstream channels while combining pop with atmospheric and experimental dance music. As a result, Flume’s music has always attracted a diverse crowd eager to experience genre-bending music, which was seen and felt by fans of all backgrounds present at the show.

Thankfully, Flume’s show was specially curated with his fans in mind. Beginning with electronic dance DJ Jim-E Stack and later Tinashe, whose style combines hip-hop/R&B and dance music, each performance brought its own distinct energy and sound, leading to a memorable night highlighted by Tinashe’s captivating dance moves and later sealed by Flume’s brilliant on-screen visuals and effects.

As the show continued, the Grammy-winning artist brought out MAY-A, who features on Flume’s new album. The “Say Nothing” singer was electrifying as she bounced on stage and brought another taste of pop to the night. Providing live vocals for some of Flume’s most popular tracks, the duo performed “Say it,” “Never Be Like You,” and Rushing Back.”

After delivering an unforgettable show, The night ended with Flume’s version of Lorde’s iconic track, “Tennis Court.” The remix rose to fame on SoundCloud in 2014 and was a proven fan favorite at The Anthem in Washington, D.C.
