If you don’t already know L’FREAQ, get ready to fall in love. The NYC-based, dark synth-pop artist is today unveilingMake Me Move,” her first release in two years, and it’s a total tour de force.

Longing for her lover and drenched in desire, the emotional song captures singer/songwriter Lea Cappelli’s jaw-dropping range and sensual, personal lyrics over a dramatic R&B-infused melody.

“I wrote this song before quarantine about deep yearning for my long-distance partner. It was my challenge to strip everything away to primal instincts,” shares L’FREAQ. “When quarantine hit, it forbid us from seeing each other, and the relationship ended, causing a spiral into craving and a deep dive into intimate voicemails that have been sampled on the song.”

Sharing intimate voicemails on the track only scratches at the surface of Cappelli’s enigmatic creativity and highlights her keen ability to empower listeners with her genuine, unique experiences. Not to mention her flawless vocals, which will pierce your heart and leave you wanting more. Listen below.

“Make Me Move” was written by L’FREAQ and Kyle McCammon and produced by Theo & the Climb with help from McCammon. The song follows L’FREAQ’s debut EP, Weird Awakenings, which explored themes of self-discovery while flexing Lea’s mind-blowing raw musical instincts. While it’s been two years since her last single, let’s hope the next one arrives sooner.
