16-year-old artist morgen makes an exciting debut today with the pensive bedroom pop zinger, “Odd One Out.”

Wise beyond her years and equipped with memorable, confident vocals, the Santa Cruz native hits all the right notes while delivering an anthem for outcasts.

“I barely fit in with my friends,” she reveals over a striking down-tempo intro. Making it immediately clear her song is as pensive as it is mesmerizingly catchy.

Co-written and produced by Adam Yaron, “Odd One Out” is the first release of three singles leading to a fall 2021 EP release via Avoca Drive/Sony Australia. This release is impossible not to look forward to after hearing the newcomers debut. The song also arrives with a music video– watch below.

On her debut single, morgen shares, “‘Odd One Out’ is a song about being different from everyone around you, and feeling like you don’t totally fit in anywhere.” Often writing at least two songs per day, practicing martial arts, or gigging with her musician father, the west coast native has developed a unique perspective exemplified in her songwriting and sound. Hitting the scene with a strong first single, morgen sets the path for an EP that will feature co-writing and production from NASAYA, Huck, and Matt Kahane.
