Heavy Lifter is out via Double Double Whammy
Austin duo Hovvdy – comprised of Charlie Martin and Will Taylor – return with their third album, Heavy Lifter. The album took shape in makeshift studios around Texas over the last year and was teased with the singles “Cathedral” “Ruin (my ride)” “So Brite” and most recently “Mr. Lee.” Decisive tracks that see the alt soft rockers exploring brighter palettes and angles of their evolving sound. For Heavy Lifter, the duo worked with producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist Ben Littlejohn – developing their exploration of vivid storytelling and production eccentricities along the way. ‘TellmeI’masinger’ reveals one of those moments, a fuzzy lo-fi track that gently unravels as the band delivers filtered vocals over obscure instrumentals. While “Feel Tall” draws darker slowcore tones that juxtapose the vibrant and bright indie and folk-pop influenced tracks characterizing parts of the album. Stream Heavy Lifter below.
