Australian artist Billy Fox returns with the smoky, smooth new single, “It’s A Mess.”

Ruminating on life’s ebb and flow and navigating through rough patches, Billy embraces the juxtaposition of forces “between calm & controlled periods, and messy & unpredictable periods.” All while complementing his deep vocals with lush indie production.

Accompanying the new single is a music video that sees the rising artist hitting the pavement in a vintage 1964 XM Falcon. Much like a long sunset drive to clear your mind or the quiet hours of a long road trip, the visual by Alex Campbell & Jarred Lammiman captures the pensive nature of the song with creative precision.

Sharing on the single, Billy Fox says: “This song is also about embracing the messiness and accepting it as much as you can. Sometimes we need to resist and fight back, but other times, the more we resist, the harder it is for the solution to appear – if you’re caught in a rip in the surf, you’ve gotta keep calm, save your energy and try to keep your head above the water.” His third single of the new year, “It’s A Mess,” follows Billy Fox’s 2019 debut project, Lung.
