Flamboyant is available now – STREAM

Genderfluid pop visionary Dorian Electra is back to share their highly-anticipated debut album, Flamboyant and it’s one of the best albums I’ve heard this year. Fusing classical baroque instruments with splintering heavy metal guitars, futuristic metallic drums, and immaculate pop melodies, the new album is a refreshing and self-aware debut that takes on ideals of masculinity and dismantles stereotypes with an extravagant and eccentric twist. Watch our Dorian Electra video playlist below.

Flamboyant was first teased in April with the title track’s blazing Liberace-inspired release and later with “Daddy Like.” The album is co-written by Dorian alongside Bonnie McKee (CRJ, Christina Aguilera) and Jesse Saint John (Britney Spears, Kim Petras) and produced by a variety of collaborators.

The 11-track album features seven amazing new tracks as well as Dorian’s previous breakout singles “Man To Man” where they take on toxic masculinity and “Career Boy” which is a commentary on the fetishization of work in our modern capitalist society. Stream the album below on Spotify.

Speaking on the album, Dorian says: “Each track on the album takes on a different masculine trope or character in order to explore the nuances of gender, power, politics, sex, music, and fashion all with a future-facing pop sound. Everything from instrument choice to aesthetics draws from the history of camp…while also being deeply personal and radically queer.” Stream Flamboyant on Apple Music.

In celebration of their debut album, Dorian will embark on a headline U.S. tour starting on September 8 in Miami, with support from Mood Killer and additional dates in Brooklyn, D.C., Nashville, Atlanta, and more. Purchase tickets HERE.

Dorian is also confirmed to support Charli XCX on select dates in October – the pair previously collaborated in 2017 on Charli XCX’s Pop 2 album track “Femmebot” alongside Mykki Blanco and earlier this year, Dorian played the first-ever Go West Fest an LGBTQ+ festival curated and co-hosted by Charli XCX and Troye Sivan.
