“50ft.” is out on Columbia Records
Following the release of her latest track “Lento,” Lauren Jauregui returns with “50ft.” The track is a heartwarming song about self-love and protection. Protecting yourself from toxic people is hard but necessary. If someone is holding you back from being happy – it’s time to let them go. In addition to the strong message, the beat is in perfect contrast with her voice and it’s safe to say that the incorporation of Spanish is the cherry on top.
According to Lauren, “the artwork truly encapsulates the feeling of distance, spoken about in the song, while asserting the closeness of my relationship to my loved ones.” The song was written, “from a space of reflection on how I interact with the world energetically.”
“50ft.” arrives with a music video directed by Cuban-American artist Inyegumena Nosegbe. It was filmed at her family home, featuring some of her family members and close friends. We tend to forget our roots and how lucky we are to have our loved ones beside us. That’s exactly what the video reflects on. It is a beautiful tribute to her family, celebrating the privilege of being able to spend time with them.
