Renaissance Boy is out August 28: Pre-save

LA-based Danish producer Galimatias is back with a new single, “Let Go.” The track is the second offering from his forthcoming full-length album, Renaissance Boy, due for release on August 28th. Following lead single “Redeye,” “Let Go” is another track immersed in the exquisite slow-burning haziness and dreamy palette of sounds distinguishing Galimatias’ upcoming album.

The track captures the many sides of the unique producer’s artistry. Opening with his delicate vocals over crisp percussion and a hypnotic melody, “Let Go” exudes a sense of isolation as the smooth lullaby & R&B beats bloom later with orchestral flourishes and staccato piano. Demonstrating the softer and more robust spectrums of Galimatias’ exploration. Perfected over the last few years, “Let Go” is the sound of competing mindsets and ruminating feelings expressed.

“The song is about the reluctance to let go of someone or something you had a strong connection to,” shares Galimatias. “The ambivalence can be jarring when you know that you would be better off moving forward and forgetting about it, but your psyche holds you hostage to the nostalgia.”

His first new music since 2018, the two singles mark a captivating new era for the Danish producer. After attracting widespread recognition with 2015s Urban Flora, his collaborative EP with Alina Baraz, Galimatias retreated from the spotlight to refine his skills as a producer and vocalist in private. While sharing select releases since then, the full realization of his immense talent is only now just starting to shine through. Emerging after a silent 2019, Galimatias returns with a refreshed take on melodic and velvety R&B that is informed both by his upbringing in the European electronic/hip-hop scene and current sunny residence in LA.
