“Kitchen Table” is out via LAVA/Republic Records
Following the success of her debut single “hello i am,” somegirlnamedanna returns with a new single “kitchen table,” opening up about her childhood.
The touching song unveils memories of the singer with her family. “The kitchen table growing up is where so many important moments happened—talking with my family about anything from how my day was to some of the most defining moments of my life,” she explains. No matter the situation, the kitchen table always played an essential part in her life. Even if “money’s tight,” her family was always there to give her a “sense of connection and support I needed.”
Somegirlnamedanna is the story of Anna, talking about her upbringing. Growing up, it soon became clear that she had a natural talent for music, and her imagination was exceptional. Balancing college and bartending, she spent countless hours in the studio writing and recording demos as well as developing her voice. After listening to one of her demos, LAVA Founder Jason Flom signed her in 2019, after which her debut single “hello i am” was released in March.
It’s only been six weeks since “hello i am” was released, and the song already exceeds over half a million streams globally. She was also the first artist to be featured on the MTV Push: FIRST series, which will focus on several new exceptional artists.
Somegirlnamedanna most definitely introduced herself in a genuinely unforgettable way. Stream “kitchen table” and be on the lookout for the official music video to arrive on May 14.
