“New Love” is out on Columbia Records
Silk City – the collaborative project by Diplo and Mark Ronson – is back with another disco-tinged, house bop called “New Love,” featuring Ellie Goulding.
The prolific duo has once again sparked pure magic on the nostalgic track with Goulding’s distinct, howling vocals only intensifying the pulsing euphoria to new heights. The energetic song arrives with an Ana Sting-directed video. Watch below.
“New Love” marks a long-awaited return for Silk City following their 2018’s “Electricity” with Dua Lipa, which earned the duo a Grammy for Best Dance Recording, is certified Platinum in the U.S. and U.K., and topped a number of charts worldwide.
The song is also Diplo and Ellie’s latest collab following Goulding’s international smash, “Close To Me,” which won the 2020 Billboard Music Award for Top Dance/Electronic Song, and is featured on her latest U.K. #1 album, Brightest Blue.
Though seemingly involved in a spectrum of projects, Ronson and Diplo’s celebration of classic dance music with Silk City is a special highlight in their expansive discographies. A song about “losing yourself on your own, not needing to be seen, knowing that the one that got away could be just as happy as this too,” according to Goulding, “New Love” is a hypnotic escape and proof the world needs more Silk City in 2021 and beyond.
