“How Do You Sleep?” is out on Capitol Records
Today, Sam Smith is unveiling his new single, “How Do You Sleep?” and it’s a total. serve. Building from a hazy dreamlike production into a throttling dance-fueled chorus, Sam sounds incredible as his soaring vocals melt like liquid gold over the savory pop melody. The single was co-written with renowned songwriters/producers Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, and ILYA.
Of course, we can’t forget “How Do You Sleep?” is accompanied by an outstanding Grant Singer-directed (The Weeknd, Lorde) video that shows Sam unleashing his “inner dancing queen” with hip-swinging choreography by Parris Goebel. Watch below.
“How Do You Sleep” follows Smith’s early-2019 collaboration with Normani, “Dancing With A Stranger,” which was a No. 1 airplay hit in the U.S. and U.K. The track has amassed over one billion cumulative streams globally and achieved Platinum status in 15 countries while the official video is quickly approaching 400 million views.
Sam Smith’s latest album, The Thrill Of It All was released in 2017, with the following year seeing the British megastar collaborate with Calvin Harris on the inescapable “Promises.” While a new album is not yet confirmed, after DWAS & HDYS, we are vibing with this evolving sound and can only hope Sam’s third album is quickly on the way.
