19-year-old Indonesian rapper Rich Brian returns today with “Yellow” featuring Bekon, and a sick Dave Meyers-directed video. The track is noted as being inspired by the stories of Asian youth and immigrants around the world and is the first taste of Rich Brian’s forthcoming sophomore album, The Sailor, due on July 26.
The Sailor follows Rich Brian’s 2018 debut album, Amen. Upon its release, the album landed at #1 on the iTunes Hip Hop chart, making him the first Asian musician to top the list. The Sailor documents the literal and metaphorical expression of a young man’s coming of age story in the public eye, and his own changing self in the greater context of today’s world.
