Review: Wolf Alice @ R&R Hotel – 07/07/17 [PHOTOS]

Visions of a Life due September 29 via Dirty Hit

Wolf Alice is finally back! The London alt-rock group’s highly-anticipated sophomore album Visions of a Life will be released on September 29 via Dirty Hit. The band has released two tracks so far: ‘Yuck Foo’ and ‘Don’t Delete The Kisses’. Now, they’re hitting the road in support of the new album. The latter track, released on Wednesday (07/05), is true to everything we love about Wolf Alice: genre-bending melodies and 90’s-inspired indie rock, with heavy drums and guitars echoing throughout its entirety. The track relies more heavily on synths than Yuck Foo or most of their prior releases, but in conjunction, they present an exciting insight into the sounds Wolf Alice is experimenting with this time around. Should make for one hell of an album.

On Friday (07/07), Wolf Alice returned to DC — playing a sold-out show at Rock & Roll Hotel. The crowd was practically spilling onto the stage, dancing and hanging on every note played, and rightfully so — Wolf Alice played as their lives depended on it. Every moment of their 14-song journey felt like an invigorating jolt of electricity, and yet comfortably nostalgic. Check out our photos from the show, and if you’re lucky enough to live in a city that hasn’t already sold out – do yourself a favor and grab a pair of tickets now!
