REVIEW: Crumb Wows @ Black Cat DC [PHOTOS]

Jinx is available now – STREAM below

Although Crumb is no stranger to the DMV we were recently graced with their presence and killer music at Black Cat, following the release of their debut album, Jinx. In case you don’t know, Crumb is an indie rock band from Boston, and the group consists of 4 extremely talented musicians who all met at university. Lila Ramani (guitar, vocals), Brian Aronow (synth, sax), Jesse Brotter (bass), and Jonathan Gilad (drums).

I feel like I’ve gone to sleep almost every night to Crumb’s soft melodic tunes ever since first discovering their music. It felt like a dream come true to finally hear Lila’s voice live while the band played me into the sweetest daydream.

Especially when ‘Plants’ from their 2017 Locket EP started oozing from the speakers. I felt like I was on a cloud drifting into Neverland. Not only did the band’s sounds give me an internal hug and kiss but listening to that incredible saxophone live was so rejuvenating.

While you certainly should, only listening to Crumb’s music on streaming platforms won’t do them full justice. The band’s current tour has wrapped but those lucky enough to get tickets for Coachella this year can catch them perform both weekends. You can also keep an eye on future shows here and see past coverage here. Crumb’s album Jinx is available. Check out my favorites “Nina,” “Ghostride,” “Jinx” and the rest of this incredible debut below.
