Public Enemy returns today with a new song and video, “State of the Union (STFU).” The track finds the New Yorkers returning to the frontlines to advocate for change while providing a strong voice to resistance. Even after decades of rapping about the racial divides in the U.S., Public Enemy’s words are as poignant and relevant as ever.

Taking the DJT administration head-on, the DJ Premier-produced track is an unflinching statement about the destruction unleashed on our country and people. The single is also a rallying cry urging people to fight against racism, injustice, and oppression with their vote. Watch the accompanying video below.

“State of the Union (STFU)” is the latest powerful statement from frontman Chuck D. In addition to decades of creating powerful records such as “Fight The Power,” the MC has addressed Trump’s policies and rhetoric through his work with Prophets of Rage and as a solo artist. “Our collective voices keep getting louder… but it’s not enough to talk about change. You have to show up and demand change,” shared Chuck D. “Folks gotta vote like their lives depend on it, ‘cause it does.” Listen below.
