Major Lazer, J Balvin, and El Alfa Debut “Que Calor”: Stream

“Que Calor” is out on Mad Decent

Diplo‘s Major Lazer has teamed up with Colombian megastar J Balvin and Dominican dembow pioneer El Alfa on the smashing new single, “Que Calor.” Following previous collaborations with both featured artists, the new single draws inspiration from each of their home countries, sampling Toto La Momposina’s traditional Colombian-cumbia classic “Curara” and Dominican dembow rhythms that have taken Latin music by storm thanks in large part to El Alfa and his collaborators.

In true Major Lazer fashion, “Que Calor” is also accompanied by a killer music video. Directed by VMA and BET Award winner Colin Tilley (Kendrick Lamar, Future, Nicki Minaj) and choreographed by fellow VMA winner Calvit Hodge, the video stars Major Lazer’s Diplo and Ape Drums as well as Balvin and El Alfa alongside two of the band’s legendary Lazer Gyals, Sara Bivens and Helen Gedlu.

The new track arrives on the heels of an unimaginable year for J Balvin, as well as for the always busy Diplo, and El Alfa. Stream “Que Calor” below and see our previous coverage of Diplo HERE and J Balvin HERE.
