“Aporia” is out via Mammal Sounds Records
Australian artist JVLY returns with his latest single, “Aporia.” Diving into hypnotic midnight enchantment, the downtempo track embraces a luscious soundscape as it experiments with jazz-infused instrumentation and arpeggio synths. The song arrives with a Rodrigo Badoino-directed video and promise of an upcoming EP set for release in June.
With “Aporia,” we hear the unpredictable sonic ambiguity driving JVLY’s upcoming EP. There are elements of R&B, indie electropop, and soul that creep in but never overwhelm. A nod to the young producer’s skilled vision for creating. “I think it mirrors the central idea of the whole EP, and it captures the exact feel I wanted for this little album, the uncertainty,” he shares about the upcoming release.
Over the last few months, JVLY has undoubtedly delved into the uncertainty ruminating on his records. The Sydney artist recently shared “monsoon,” which welcomes hues of funk with an earworm bassline and percussions, as well as other must-hear tracks “me&her” and “tacenda.” With a new EP on the way, it’s clear JVLY’s experimental sound is one to follow closely.
