Jarad Anthony Higgins, widely known as the rapper Juice Wrld, died today at 21.
Reported via TMZ this morning, Juice Wrld suffered a seizure in Chicago’s Midway Airport shortly after arriving from Los Angeles. Witnesses state the rapper was walking through the terminal when he visibly began to experience symptoms of the medical emergency. Higgins was conscious when transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Juice WRLD’s breakthrough arrived last year with “Lucid Dreams” – the emotional rap track that soared to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition to releasing his first Billboard #1 album, Death Race for Love in March, the Chicago native featured on an impressive and diverse catalog alongside some of music’s biggest names. A testament to his unique, quickly loved, and in-demand sound.
The cause of death is unclear at this time and our thoughts are with Juice WRLD’s family, friends, and fans. RIP
