If you thought Day 1 of Hangout Fest 2023 was memorable, then Day 2 will blow your mind. SZA brought her chart-topping album, SOS, with so many adoring fans singing along. Plus, Paramore kicked off their highly-anticipated U.S. tour with a packed crowd. Along the way, Highly Suspect, The Maine, Ferg, Mariah the Scientist, Sabrina Carpenter, and Flume were huge highlights of the day. Read on for more from Day 2.

Highly Suspect & The Maine ft. Charlotte Sands

The day started off led by rock acts Highly Suspect smashing the Shein Surf Stage and The Maine devouring the Boom Stage. The Maine reminded fans the weekend was a marathon and to help with that trek; they brought out Charlotte Sands to perform their collab single, “Loved You A Little,” which was such a special moment.

Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter served pop on a plate. She had the whole crowd enchanted with her vocals. To wrap her set, she played “Nonsense,” one of the major hits off her latest album, emails i can’t send, and it felt like you could hear the entire festival screaming in excitement.

Flume

Australian producer/DJ Flume poured stunning visuals all over Hangout Fest and had the crowd in awe and jumping for joy. Now layer the bass drops, intricate synths, and beats; you are now hypnotized by everything around.  The are no boundaries when it comes to Flume. It will always be an experience with the range of hits he has under him. A highlight of the set was the number of hands going up for Flume’s timeless remix of Disclosure’s “You and Me.”

Ferg

Ferg had mosh pits opening from left to right at the Boom Stage. The crowd was ready to rage the night away with Ferg. It’s undeniable that Ferg has had hit after hit and with his energy matching the crowd’s, he had everyone hyped up. His heavy basslines and catchy hooks had anyone within the stage’s radius stopping for a moment to enjoy his set.

Paramore

Paramore took the stage with eager fans camping out all day for their set. HOMF got one of the first tastes of the band’s new live show. Hayley Williams gathered all the energy from the crowd and multiplied it by 100. The energetic instrumentals combined with Hayley’s vocals are unbeatable. The evolution of Paramore can be felt through the music. They delivered one of the best sets of the weekend and left everything on that stage.

SZA

To end the night, SZA called SOS at HOMF. Her visual production matched the waves just a few feet away from the Hangout Stage, which is not something you can say for just any festival out there. Her set compromised of songs from her latest album plus some old fan favorites. There were so many moments where it felt like an intimate show between you, SZA, and no one else. Towards the end, it was a snap to reality as thousands of fans sang “I Hate U” at the top of their lungs.
