Emerging UK artist Tana has unveiled her latest single, “Make It Up.” The song captures the juxtaposition of getting lost in enjoyable vices and giving in to desires while simultaneously attempting to correct wrongs and maintain relationships.

“Don’t mean no harm, don’t mean no damage,” she reveals over a haunting melody. “I left you alone, and it’s driving you crazy. When I take it too far, I expect you to save me.” Realizing she’s alone in her endeavor, she introspectively questions whether she’s crazy for thinking her lover will still be there for her. Later accepting that she’ll make it right when the sun comes up.

Spellbinding and a rich blend of dark R&B and electropop, the singer-songwriter’s first single of the year is a captivating release. While still new, Tana’s vulnerable songwriting and ear for compelling soundscapes point towards her potential as a future star.

Co-written by Tana, Hannah Boleyn, and produced by Imad Salhi and Luke Anthony, “Make It Up” is a liberating, anthemic song you won’t be able to play just once. Much like the song’s theme of returning to vices, Tana’s latest single will have you coming back for more.

“Make It Up” follows a year that saw the rising artist release three singles, including most recently, “Kiss.” Already gaining support from BBC Introducing, Sean Kingston, Reprezent radio, and Pulse 88, she’s an artist to keep on your radar.
