Rising artist Dylan has released her highly anticipated new single, “No Romeo,” a song perfect for “late-night drives with the windows down.”
Dylan first started teasing the song at the end of last year and performed it at her first headlining show in London (I can confirm, it is even better live!). As we gradually entered into the new year, the “No Romeo-content” suddenly skyrocketed, and she made sure fans got a little bit more information about the song each time; “I wrote no Romeo with my best friends in mind. I was tired of them going back to their questionable exes and letting themselves be treated like crap.”
Staying true to herself, the charm and honestly of the record grows in boldness with every new chord and lyric, which we have seen before in Dylan’s previous releases, such as her EP, Red.
Alongside the single, a music video was also released. Dylan is directly singing the song to her friend, and we can feel the emotions through the screen. Her friend is suffering because of the way her partner is treating her, leaving her doubting herself when in reality, she deserves to be with someone who lifts her up and supports her unconditionally.
Undoubtedly, “No Romeo” is a push we all need to realise it is time to leave our toxic exes behind. Whoever thinks they might need one last push, Dylan is performing three headline shows in Manchester, London, and Bristol. Stream “No Romeo” and see the tour dates here.
