The EP includes covers of Amy Winehouse, Etta James

Dua Lipa is having an amazing 2017, and it’s beyond deserved. In June, the British singer’s debut album exploded onto the scene. Delivering a new set of viral pop anthems and helping the singer become one of the top streamed artists of the year. For Dua, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. The young phenom has spent the year touring the world, opening for and collaborating with some of the largest names in music, and inciting a British mania that feels both familiar and unequivocally unique.

Dua’s current single, “New Rules,” has taken a life of its own. Dua resolves to move on from a bad relationship with three simple rules and encourages listeners to do the same. The song is unavoidable, getting the remix treatment by everyone under the sun, and quickly on path to become the singer’s first track to surpass 1 billion streams on multiple platforms. A live, piano acoustic version of the track can also be found on Dua’s Live Acoustic EP, released earlier today.

The EP also contains a cover of “Golden Slumbers” and the previously-released cover of “Tears Dry On Their Own” with Gallant. However, we’re most excited by Dua’s cover of “I’d Rather Go Blind.” She effortlessly demonstrates her exciting versatility on the Etta James classic, and it’s one we hope to hear more of soon.
