Bloc Party Announce ‘Silent Alarm’ Anniversary Tour

The tour kicks off this fall at The Anthem in D.C.

English rockers, Bloc Party has announced they will be performing their milestone debut album, Silent Alarm, from start to finish at select dates across the U.S. The announcement arrives almost fifteen years after the group released their groundbreaking, dance-punk single “Banquet,” and subsequent multi-platinum debut album. The tour kicks off in September at The Anthem in Washington, D.C., with dates in Boston, Philly, NY, LA, and SF confirmed.

When it dropped in 2005, Silent Alarm was an untamable jolt in the independent music scene. The album was met with widespread acclaim and earned the group a Mercury Prize nomination. It also quickly established the band as one of the most exciting alternative acts emerging from the UK.

Last October, Bloc Party first performed their debut album in full at London’s Alexandra Palace.  That show, alongside a handful of others on their European tour, was recorded for a special live edition of Silent Alarm, which will be released on April 12th on 12-inch vinyl, CD, digital download and special edition bundles.

Bloc Party are Kele Okereke (vocals, guitar), Russell Lissack (guitar), Justin Harris (bass) and Louise Bartle (drums). See them live this fall, tickets go on sale at 10 am on March 29th at blocparty.com.
