Arcoiris Tour ends 10/26 at Staples Center in LA

Colombian reggaeton star J Balvin is undoubtedly one of the most prominent artists in the world and his Arcoiris Tour is not only a massive celebration of his meteoric rise but also of the culture and sounds supporting this remarkable moment in music.
 
Debuting on Coachella‘s mainstage and later making history as Lollapalooza‘s first Latin headliner, J Balvin‘s largest production to-date finds him armed with a spectrum of new hits released since 2018s Vibras – including 2019s Oasis album alongside Bad Bunny and viral tracks with DJ Snake, Major Lazer, Cardi B, Rosalia, and countless others – leading to his most expansive and diverse setlist yet.
 

 

Following dates in Puerto Rico, Miami, and others, the Arcoiris Tour landed at Eaglebank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia, and it was an impressive high-octane show. Featuring insane visuals, synchronized costumed dancers, and massive stage props, the show fittingly opened with Balvin’s “Reggaeton” and “Machika,” which struck through the arena like shockwaves, before leading into “Con Altura” – his 2019 track with Rosalia.
 
After running through the Nicky Jam collab “X,” 2016s “Safari” and a few other massive hits, one of the show’s defining moments arrived in the form of a tribute to reggaeton artists N.O.R.E., Wisin & Yandel, and Daddy Yankee – international hitmakers that paved the way for artists like J Balvin to even conceive achieving similar widespread impact.

The enthusiastic crowd – which overflowed with flags from Latin countries, soccer jerseys, and homemade concert signs –roared with swelling pride as J Balvin blasted timeless reggaeton tracks. The apt tribute was then followed with Oasis hits “LA CANCION” and “QUE PRETENDES,” which drew an even bigger reaction from fans. Evidence that Balvin himself is on his way to the same legendary reputation as his musical predecessors.
 

Explosive live cuts of Cardi B’s “I Like It” and Jhay Cortez‘s “No Me Conoce” Remix – which both feature contributions from J Balvin and Bad Bunny – filled the enraptured Eaglebank Arena soon after. As did hilarious bobbleheads of Bad Bunny and Cardi B. The night ended with “Que Calor,” the inescapable “Mi Gente” and a few others. Sealing a perfect night of amazing vibes.
 

 

J Balvin’s Arcoiris Tour has upcoming dates in Phoenix, El Paso, Las Vegas, and many more, before ending on October 26 at Staples Center in Los Angeles. The dates follow a sold-out night at New York’s legendary Madison Square Garden. Purchase available tickets here.
 

Shows in South America lead J Balvin into 2020 but the end of this tour carries larger implications for the first Latin artist to exceed 55 million monthly Spotify listeners. While, the last few years have already proven J Balvin is a chart-topping frontrunner, his imminent solo follow-up to Vibras, Oasis, and his long list of collabs, needs to breathe new life into reggaeton and/or his own sound to continue his contagious infiltration of mainstream music and consciousness. A substantial task the “Que Pena” rapper appears ready to take head-on.
