“Care” is out via Dirty Hit Records
Beabadoobee has announced her debut album, Fake It Flowers, is due later this year via Dirty Hit. The news arrives alongside her latest single “Care.” The track features the ‘90s nostalgic sound we love from Bea with muted guitars, tender vocals, and powerful drums. The song premiered as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 and was unveiled with an at-home quarantine video co-directed by bedroom – which consists of her boyfriend Soren Harrison and friend Amir Hossain.
Avid TikTok users have likely stumbled upon beabadoobee as the featured artist on Powfu’s viral hit, “death bed.” The track samples the singer’s 2017 debut single, “Coffee” and has accumulated over 550 million streams. Her swift rise to stardom comes as no surprise. Her captivating lyricism and honest approach to songwriting have made quick fans out of casual listeners.
“I never expected to be making the first video from my album during a pandemic!” shares Bea. “I was so lucky to be locked down with the bedroom guys, it feels like it turned out as one of the most personal, real videos I’ve made.” The song serves as the title track off her forthcoming debut full-length project and “has end-of-a-’90s movie vibes, like you’re driving down a highway.” With more on the way, “Care” is definitely an amazing first taste of beabadoobee’s upcoming album.
