BME Sessions is streaming now on BBC Music’s YouTube
Following the cancellation of SXSW due to Covid-19 concerns – The British Music Embassy, BBC Music Introducing, and multiple UK organizations have partnered to present The BME Sessions.
Originally slated for its 13th year of showcases, the UK’s official residency was instead filmed last week at London’s Production Park Studios. This year’s performers included Arlo Parks, Bess Atwell, Jordan Mackampa, Knucks, KOKOROKO, Liz Lawrence, Marsicans, Porridge Radio, and Steam Down. Each act had the opportunity to perform two songs, viewable in full below.
As many are aware, performances at SXSW are key for rising artists. Especially for musicians from other countries that participate on the road to growing a stronger U.S. fanbase and later touring the states. Thankfully, BME and BBC made these sessions possible in partnership with the Association of Independent Music (AIM), BPI, Department for International Trade, PPL, PRS for Music and PRS Foundation.
