Thierry & The Backyard Embassy share uplifting new song “Ciao”

Yesterday, Thierry & The Backyard Embassy released their new single, “Ciao,” marking the beginning of their collaboration with Roble Records. Blending Afro-fusion, reggae, and global sounds, the uplifting song invites reconnection through rhythm and shared humanity. Written and composed by Thierry Kiranga, the track transforms a simple word into a powerful, universal message.

Ciao is one of the most beautiful sounds we can hear — melodic, rhythmic, but above all meaningful,” says Thierry. “It’s a meeting point, an echo between people. A way to say: I see you.”

In a time marked by distraction and disconnection, “Ciao” calls us to rediscover the beauty of human encounters — beyond borders, identities, and stereotypes. A boundless sound celebrating diversity, connection, and the value of the present moment.

Recorded at Roble Factory Studio, the single features the international band The Backyard Embassy, blending influences from Europe, Africa, and the Caribbean into a rich sonic landscape. It’s made for sunshine and summer playlists.

The official video expands this global dimension: built from contributions by over 200 people from around the world — including Vietnam, Brazil, Jordan, Arizona, Cuba, Algeria, Oman, the Maldives, Mexico, Colombia, Australia, Burundi, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, France, the UK, Belgium, and Spain — it shows people greeting each other with a simple yet powerful gesture: a wave and a “ciao.” The video premiered on Reggaeville, a leading international platform for reggae culture.

With “Ciao,” Thierry & The Backyard Embassy offer more than a song: a moment of recognition, connection, and shared joy — a reminder that sometimes the simplest words carry the deepest meaning. Watch below.
