WAYI’s “Insecure” is out now on Weird Is Good
Relationships can be so confusing, especially when people are unclear about what they want. Doubt, lack of trust, and issues with loyalty can sprout and really stain an otherwise good thing. 25-year-old Belgian R&B artist WAYI understands it, she’s lived it, but she’s moving forward and her new single “Insecure” is soulful, jazz-infused, proof of such.
On “Insecure,” WAYI’s honesty and lyricism are deeply rooted in emotion, and superbly refreshing. “Why would you make me so insecure? You’re sayin’ you love me, but you actually don’t” exclaims the young singer while questioning her lover’s actions and intentions over robust horns and instrumentals. “I am the one who’s craving” she later says, further driving the wedge in their flickering love affair. Check out the track below.
“Insecure” serves as WAYI’s first single off her forthcoming debut EP, Love Is Progress. The project is due for release on March 27 via Weird Is Good. Pre-save the EP here. In a press release, the EP is noted as being “an ode to the cycle of love in all its colors, textures and layers. A love that hurts, anchors, puzzles, gives butterflies. A love that grows, or sometimes withers only to make you flourish instead.” We can’t wait to hear it.
