Sophia Anne Caruso has released “like i like u,” the latest single from her forthcoming debut album, ON ECSTATIC, out September 18. Built on a bubbly hyperpop pulse, the song turns a simple question, “do you like me like I like you?” into something more urgent and danceable by keeping one foot in childlike exhilaration and the other in the pressing awareness that time is finite.

Caruso, who originated Lydia Deetz in Broadway’s Beetlejuice and starred in Netflix’s The School for Good and Evil, first previewed ON ECSTATIC with “Higher State.” The album takes its title from a specific catalyst, the freedom of an ecstatic dance experience, and works outward from there into love, memory, and resilience, using hyperpop’s sonic vocabulary in service of a narrative.
