Today, Colombian megastar KAROL G unveils her stunning fourth album, Mañana Será Bonito, fueled by a star-studded cast of producers, co-writers, and features. Her most cohesive and powerful release yet, the album truly has no skips and will have fans dancing, singing, and deep in their feelings. Arriving as a towering 17-track project, the album fluctuates from carefree nights of partying, indulging in desires, and feeling confident to vulnerable tracks that catch KAROL G admitting her heart is healing after ending a painful relationship, the rollercoaster aftermath, and finding the strength and resilience to move forward and come out on the other side better than before. See our take on Mañana Será Bonito‘s best tracks ranked below.

17. “Amargura”

Landing toward the end of KAROL G’s 17-track tour de force, “Amargura” opens with a sample of Puerto Rican singer Frankie Cruz’s song “La Cura,” which says “if they tell you that I’m healing, it’s the truth.” The song describes the pain of seeing an ex moving on and being with someone else, while she’s still struggling to move on. Hoping her ex misses her, the lyrics describe the conflicting emotions of appearing unaffected on the outside while feeling broken on the inside.

16. “Dañamos La Amistad” ft. Sech

Oops… friendship ruined? Karol G and Sech recount two friends who hook up after a night of drinking, despite knowing it’s a bad idea. Even though they’ve enjoyed themselves, the lyrics describe the confusion and mixed feelings that follow while touching on the consequences of acting on impulse and disregarding the advice of others. Of the collabs on the album, this one wasn’t the strongest but still a total vibe to dance to and drunkenly sing to that one friend ;).

15. “Mercurio”

Emphasizing the importance of communication and forgiveness in a relationship, KAROL G delivers this ballad straight from her heart, suggesting that people in love don’t ignore each other and should instead show each other small gestures of love by kissing, calling each other, and texting about sex. Telling her lover not to blame the relationship issues on astrology (sorry horoscopers), she says love is about action and that their connection came from a higher power.

14. “Mientras Me Curo Del Cora”

With an interpolation of Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry Be Happy” alluding to the theme of the album’s opening track, Karol G acknowledges she’s not feeling her best but expresses optimism her situation will improve as she finds solace in the simple pleasures of life, like spending time at the beach, being among family and friends that care for her, and the healing power of true love and companionship. Even through the pain, resilience and hope drive this track, but feels thematically close to the album’s title track.

13. “Carolina”

Baring the star’s name, “Carolina” describes G wanting to spend the day in bed indulging her lover and repeating what they were up to the night prior. She jokes the streets are too dangerous, so they should just stay in bed. Playful and revelatory, she reminds her man he’ll never have anyone else like her. No lies detected.

12. “Cairo”

Jet-setting to Egypt for this beautiful music video directed by Pedro Artola, “Cairo” describes falling for someone that was just intended to be a one-night stand. Despite knowing her man might not be faithful and that something lacks in the relationship, G still enjoys spending time with him, while the repeating line “I don’t know if it’s the alcohol” suggests G may be questioning the validity of her emotions and behavior. Arriving as the album’s third single, the song was created with “Provenza” hitmakers Keityn and Ovy On The Drums.

11. “X Si Volvemos”

Arriving earlier this month as the last preview of the album, “X Si Volvemos” sees KAROL G collaborating with Romeo Santos to tell the story of a passionate and sensual relationship between a couple. The song was composed by Karol G, Santos, and Keityn, with production by Ovy On The Drums, and feels timeless as Santos lends the smooth vocals that made Aventura international stars.

10. “Mañana Sera Bonito”

The album’s title track, “Mañana Sera Bonito” is about overcoming heartbreak and finding hope for a better tomorrow. The refrain by Mexican indie-pop artist Carla Morrison emphasizes that no matter how tough things may seem today, tomorrow is a new day and it will be beautiful. Karol G’s verses acknowledge the pain of heartbreak but encourage listeners to celebrate life and not let the pain dim their shine. The song ultimately encourages listeners to keep their heads up and look forward to a beautiful tomorrow, a fitting message for the entire album.

9. “Besties”

Dedicated to her besties, KAROL G recounts putting on their hottest outfits for a night of drinking, twerking, partying, fooling around, and creating an atmosphere only a group of besties can. Empowering and independent, KAROL G knows she’s a chimbita and her confidence is unmatched. The song is co-written with Lenny Tavárez and Justin Quiles, and produced by Ovy On The Drums. Hop in the car with your besties and turn this one way up.

8. “Ojos Ferrari” ft. Justin Quiles & Angel Dior

¡Perreo! ¡Perreo! ¡Perreo! Armed with a dembow-leaning beat, KAROL G enlists Puerto Rican singer Justin Quiles and Dominican rapper Angel Dior for a blast of a song that is carefree, dancefloor-ready, and about having the most fun possible. “Today we’re drinking, smoking, and having sex,” they chant in unison, further pushing the nonchalant vibes of a track that will soundtrack late nights and have you dropping it low, low.

7. “Provenza”

On a 17-track album with absolutely no skips, one of KAROL G’s defining hits feels like one of her most accessible pop tracks. Hitting up an old flame after the end of a relationship, she just wants to live in the moment and paints the picture of an idyllic reconvening to relive the past and enjoy each others’ company once again. Written by G alongside Colombian artist Keityn and Ovy On The Drums, there’s simply no way you can listen to this earworm just once.

6. “Gatúbela” ft. Maldy

Arriving last fall as the second single off the album, “Gatúbela” finds the Colombian star collaborating with Puerto Rican rapper Maldy. Singing about her desire to be intimate with someone, even marry them, G is ready for anything, while Maldy’s verse adds traditional reggaeton flair with his rapid-fire verse. Arriving with a high-energy music video that’ll have you wanting to hit a risque perreo tonight, this song holds its own as a clear standout on Mañana Será Bonito.

5. Kármika ft. Bad Gyal, Sean Paul

An international banger featuring iconic Jamaican rapper Sean Paul and Spanish queen Bad Gyal, KAROL G and Bad Gyal know exactly what they want on “Kármika.” Juxtaposing Sean Paul’s verses, the stars tell their bad boy to take advantage of the fact that they’re drunk dialing for sex while apologizing for not wanting more with him. Flipping the transactional nature usually attributed to men, the two stars make it clear they’re better off alone and not interested in pursuing a romantic relationship. An empowering feminist bop.

4. “Tus Gafitas”

If you’ve ever wondered what would happen if KAROL G, Ovy On The Drums, and FINNEAS got in the studio, then “Tus Gafitas” is the track for you. Rock-inspired drums and guitars create a thumping, melancholic melody as Karol sings about the butterfly feelings of budding love. Like scribbles in a diary, she sees the magnificence of the world, flowers regain their beauty, the clouds part, and while holding onto sunglasses her new love interest left in her car, she vulnerably admits her feelings. Que cute.

3. “Gucci Los Paños”

Flexing her diverse range, “Gucci Los Paños” employs a Mexican corrido-tinged melody as the Colombian star sings about never returning to her ex. Describing the pain she’s felt drinking away her heartache and deleting evidence of their love, she can’t understand why her ex wants her back when he’s the one that ruined their relationship. Co-created by KAROL G, EDGE, Jowan, Alvaro Diaz, FEID, El Rolo, and Esteban Higuita Estrada, this ballad was made for singing away sorrows and intimate slow dances.

2. “Pero Tú” ft. Quevedo

One of the steamier tracks on Mañana Será Bonito, KAROL G enlists breakout Spanish rapper Quevedo to describe a tantalizing sexcapade that recounts late-night backseat affairs and an irresistible passion for each other. While recognizing it might not be a traditional love or last forever, the tension is undeniable and they want each other one way or another, even implying they’d demonstrate their intimacy by sleeping over and cooking for each other in the morning. The juxtaposition of their two distinct voices elevate the track to new heights over production by Ovy On The Drums.

1. “TQG” ft. Shakira

The highly-anticipated collaboration between Colombia’s two largest stars did not disappoint. KAROL G and Shakira teaming up on “TQG” is oozing female empowerment as the megastars take multiple digs at past exes for still liking their photos and watching their stories on social media. Quickly overcoming the pain of their past, the duo sing about putting their stratospheric careers first, never making the same mistake twice or competing with other women for the men in their lives. The song arrives with an explosive music video that’s giving 2023 “Beautiful Liar” vibes in the best way as KAROL G and Shakira blend perreando and belly dancing while reminding their exes what they lost. These two women are at the top of their game and this collaboration is exactly what the world needed.
