Chart-topper Lola Young can add a new accolade under her belt– GRAMMY® winner. Tonight, the 25 year old London artist’s inescapable hit “Messy” won a well-deserved Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance. The win arrived just moments after Young made her highly anticipated return to the stage performing a stirring and stripped version of the song during a segment which saw all of the Best New Artist nominees perform one of their songs.

Young, who stepped back from scheduled appearances in September to focus on her health after fainting during her performance at All Things Go, unleashed on stage while allowing the restraint of the soft-touched piano balance the roar of her soaring vocals. She showed the world exactly why her nomination for Best New Artist was beyond deserved.

“Messy” is the breakout single from Lola Young’s third album, This Wasn’t Meant For You Anyway, which also features the earworm single, “Conceited.” Watch the music video below and see more of our 2026 GRAMMYs coverage.
