Cheap Queen is out via Zelig/Columbia
Today, rising pop star King Princess released her debut album, Cheap Queen. Ahead of the album’s release, the singer-songwriter shared “Hit The Back,” “Ain’t Together,” “Prophet” and the album’s title track. Multi-dimensional, raw, and unabashedly queer, the new album places Mikaela Strauss at the forefront of pop music with a soulful new effort.
In celebration of Cheap Queen, King Princess will make her TV debut with a performance on CBS’ “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” on Tuesday, November 5th following a pair of sold-out nights at New York’s Terminal 5. Her fall headline tour continues with two sold-out nights at D.C.’s 9:30 Club and additional dates across North America. See the full dates here.
Cheap Queen was written and produced in LA by King Princess and Mike Malchicoff. The album features contributions from Tobias Jesso Jr., Father John Misty, The Dap-Kings. Stream the new album below and see King Princess on tour.
