Ice Spice just turned a Mario Bros. meme into what may become one of the most quoted lyrics of the year. Already picking up viral steam on socials over the last few weeks, “Think U The Shit (Fart),” out today on 10K Projects/Capitol Records, is as hilariously ridiculous as the title suggests.
Comparing the height of her success, appearance, and appeal to that of her delusional rivals, Spice makes it quite clear she’s untouchable and, in the process, gives people all around the world their go-to Instagram caption of the year. Really, is there a better way to make it more obvious that someone is not at all on your level?
Her first release of 2024, “Think U The Shit (Fart)” – likely (and thankfully) the only song on DSPs using the word fart somewhat earnestly – follows a breakout year for the New Yorker. In addition to releasing her highly-anticipated and acclaimed debut EP, Like..?, the newly-minted star landed on the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100 an impressive four times in 2023 for collaborative singles with Taylor Swift, PinkPantheress, and Nicki Minaj. With Minaj and Aqua, Ice Spice also released “Barbie World,” a remake of the Danish band’s timeless single for the blockbuster hit movie, “Barbie.” Stream the new single below.
