Governors Ball returns on September 24-26: Tickets

Alright, kids, this year’s Gov Ball lineup isn’t messing around. Packed with crowd favorites and exciting up-and-comers, this three-day festival is sure to exceed all of our expectations. We’re giving you five reasons why you 100% need to attend The Governors Ball this year: 

Celebrating a decade of The Governors Ball

This year’s festival will be legendary for many reasons, but one, in particular, is that this year marks the 10th anniversary of Gov Ball, so you know the festival has big plans for the weekend. This festival started as an event made by organizers that secretly put it together outside of their music industry jobs only to quit said jobs right after getting to a solid place in planning the fest. They all took a huge risk, and it’s obviously paid off every year since. Iconic. Headliners have included Kanye West, Mac Miller, Kid Cudi, The Strokes, Drake, and the list goes on. Gov Ball has been established as a major milestone in any music artist’s career, rightfully so.

New location, who dis?

Gov Ball is moving to Citi Field in Queens, and we’re stoked. This change makes it more accessible for festival-goers since it’s right by subway, bus stops, walking – however you’re getting there! Also, the new 360* layout will give all of us the best sound and shortest walks, allowing us to catch more sets than ever before!

One word: food

Are you ready for this? Gov Ball partnered with Grubhub this year to celebrate the anniversary. They’re offering us a way to skip lines entirely by ordering some of New York’s favorite local food off our phone directly. Delivery at a festival? Revolutionary. Enjoy some Sweet Chick, Roberta’s, Milk & Cream Bar, John’s Juice, or some Dank Nugz with the press of a button while in the crowd for your favorite artist. Chicken and waffles AND a Post Malone set? Need we say more?

You’re Doing Great

The mantra of Gov Ball could not be more relevant this year. 2020 was tough. Everyone’s story is different, but the beauty of a music festival is that we can all escape the chaos of life and be together enjoying our favorite artists making memories that will last longer than a 24 hour IG story. We took it for granted before, so now, coming back after a year, we’re expecting the energy to be *chef’s kiss.* We have a feeling these artists have a lot of energy ready to be let out on the stage, and we couldn’t be more excited. Hot Girl Summer

The women of Gov Ball 2021 include – of course, Megan Thee Stallion, Billie Eilish, Kehlani, Ellie Goulding, Carly Rae Jepsen, Phoebe Bridgers, Caroline Polachek, and that’s just the beginning. After a year off, we’re ready to feel the divine feminine energy in the New York air. Power, strength, resilience, and confidence will be appropriately exuded all three days. Hot girls, make sure to hydrate properly before the weekend; there’s dancing afoot.

As if the lineup of fan faves like A$AP Rocky, MUNA, Smino, Dominic Fike, and 99 Neighbors wasn’t enough, Gov Ball is going above and beyond to make sure each of us is safe and healthy pre and post fest. Everyone is required to show proof of full Covid-19 vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test result will be required to attend the festival.
