FAQ

Soundazed is an independent music and culture publication covering emerging and rising artists, new releases, live shows, festivals, and the scenes shaping contemporary music. Our focus is on discovery, context, and culture.

Soundazed is primarily spearheaded by Matt Torres. Additional contributors include photographers and writers embedded in music and festival culture.

Soundazed was founded in 2016 in Washington, D.C. The publication has since expanded its focus to the Chicago music scene and market, while continuing to cover artists, festivals, and events across other cities and regions.

Soundazed covers anything that makes us feel something! Whether that’s indie, pop, alternative, latin, electronic, global music, something in between, or none of the above. If it’s great, we want to hear it!

Editorial coverage is driven by interest and fit. Soundazed looks for strong releases, clear creative direction, live presence, and a sense that an artist is actively building something — whether through music, performances, or community.

Submissions are accepted by email or through our Contact page. We have reviewed through third-party platforms and designated submission channels, such as SubmitHub or Groover, in the past but email remains the best way to reach us. We do our best to consider all submissions, but editorial coverage is never guaranteed.
