“Alone Together” is out on Mom + Pop: Stream

Indie crooner Del Water Gap, the project of S. Holden Jaffe, returns today with a somber, anti-love song, “Alone Together,” accompanied by vocals from Samia. The track details the invisible heartache associated with a turbulent, young love.

Racking up over 11 million streams on his folk-leaning breakout single, “Ode To A Conversation Stuck In Your Throat,” all eyes are on Jaffe and his upcoming debut album. Already delivering the slice of indie-pop perfection, “Better Than I Know Myself,”  and three additional tracks “Perfume,” “Hurting Kind,” and “Sorry I Am,” Del Water Gap is proving his best is yet to come.

Parting from the upbeat melodies of his recent releases, “Alone Together” captures the deeply confessional lyricism characterizing Del Water Gap’s album while exploring a moodier soundscape led by haunting guitars. Slow-burning and pensive, the song epitomizes the range and depth of Jaffe’s emotional storytelling.

Having started the project as a student at NYU, Del Water Gap has quickly entranced the masses to the tune of 52+ million streams, received praise from a spectrum of tastemaker platforms like FADER and NYLON, and recently collaborated with Maggie Rogers and Claud.

Del Water Gap’s eponymous debut album is produced by Jaffe, Mike Adubato, Gabe Goodman, Mike Malchicoff, and Andy Seltzer. The project arrives via Mom + Pop on October 8th, one day before Jaffe is set to hit the road supporting Alaska Reid. He is also scheduled to perform at Firefly Festival next weekend and DC’s ATG Festival in October. See all future tour dates here.
