Cobrah announces debut album, hear the first two singles
Torn is out March 6 on Atlantic Records: Pre-save
Cobrah has unveiled a new single, “Hush,” alongside news her debut album Torn will be released on March 6 via Atlantic Records. The song follows the October release of the album’s title track.
Written and creatively directed by Cobrah, Torn is a multidimensional self-portrait that pairs her most vulnerable songwriting yet with provocative grandeur and high-impact production, “peeling it all off” while still letting her real self read as a character. The album reunites her with longtime collaborators Isac Hördegård and Hannes Roovers, with additional contributions from Illangelo, Machinedrum, and Tove Burman.
Album opener “Torn” sets the mood with an epic build before dropping into a filthy sweet DnB melody layered with swirling synths. Cobrah’s vocal—ethereal and almost robotic—locks to the rhythm with a trance-like focus. “Hush” lands as a sexy club banger when it wants to land heavy, slipping into lighter, ethereal moments that make the tension palpable.
Both songs lean into pressure, release, and pressure again—music designed to hit at your core while still allowing space to sit with a visceral feeling before hitting with an unrelenting beat again. The 11-track album will be a must-hear in March.
Torn lands ahead of a few big-stage moments this spring. Cobrah is set for Treefort Music Fest in Boise on March 27, and she’s also slated to make her Coachella debut across both April weekends (April 10–12 and April 17–19) in Indio, California. A fuller North American tour has been teased, with details still to come. Watch the video for “Hush” and pre-save Torn.
