Chappell Roan – The Basement East – 02/23/23 [Photos]
Last week, LA-based singer-songwriter Chappell Roan hit Nashville with a sold-out show at The Basement East, an unforgettable night for all who attended. The show started with a bang as incredible drag queens opened the night. Shortly after, Chappell graced the stage for a “slumber party kissing” themed show, which took inspiration from the lyrics of her song “Naked In Manhattan.”
Fans got into the theme’s spirit and went all out dressing up and creating an atmosphere of community and fun. But the night’s highlight arrived when Chappell Roan performed her hit song, “Pink Pony Club,” which references Tennessee, for the first time in the state. Overwhelmed with love and gratitude, a teary-eyed Roan delivered the moving encore to a sea of enamored fans. It was truly a moving moment that will stay with everyone lucky enough to be there.
With a dollar from each ticket donated to For The Gworls, an LGBTQ+ organization that helps Black trans people pay for their rent and gender-affirming surgeries, the concert also showcased Chappell Roan’s commitment to using her platform to elevate and support marginalized groups.
Chappell Roan’s tour continues through mid-March, with headlining shows in Chicago, Denver, SLC, Seattle, SF, LA, and more. Don’t miss your chance to see this incredible performer in action. See all future tour dates here and check out my photos from the show below.
