Manuel Turizo follows sold-out 201 Tour with new song and music video
Colombian hitmaker Manuel Turizo is not holding back on his new single, “Por Un Pendejo No Se Llora (Salud Mi Reina),” a bachata dancefloor anthem that turns heartbreak into a clear call for self-respect. Turizo frames the story like tough love—watching someone keep choosing the wrong guy before finally speaking up.
The release comes with an attention-demanding music video. Shot in-studio, the direction treats light, color, and space as the story to something more cinematic. Turizo shifts from meeting a woman at a beach bar to silhouette scenes against an oversized, glowing sun, then into warm haze where tension builds as the two trade glances and circle each other through the room. The set feels dreamlike, while the choreography carries emotion and sincerity.
The heightened attention to craft matches where Turizo is right now. His hit “La Bachata” has surpassed 2 billion Spotify streams and became his first solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 67. His 2024 studio album, 201, kept his artistry evolving, and the accompanying 201 Tour has given that momentum a stage across sold-out arena shows in Latin America, the U.S., and Europe.
Interestingly, “Por Un Pendejo No Se Llora” is the third time the “(Salud Mi Reina)” tag has shown up recently. Manuel’s recent songs “Cosas De Enamorao (Salud Mi Reina)” and Ahora (Salud Mi Reina)” also carry those tags, and even if Turizo hasn’t said what it signals, the repetition feels intentional. While “Cosas” leaned performance-forward, it had similar larger-than-life night-sky and outdoor visuals, while “Mírame Ahora” flipped the setting entirely—Turizo confidently dancing alone on a boat. Add the world of “Por Un Pendejo No Se Llora” to the thread, and these releases start to feel like chapters.
With a February show in Bogotá set to close the 201 Tour, “Por Un Pendejo No Se Llora (Salud Mi Reina)” arrives as the perfect first song of the year and perhaps a hint at what Turizo has coming next. Stream the song and video below. Follow Manuel Turizo.
