Today, Porsche revealed the commercial for the new all-electric Porsche Macan. Written and co-directed by global pop powerhouse Dua Lipa alongside GRAMMY-winning director Clément Durou of the duo We Are From L.A., the 2-minute film was shot in Mexico City during spring 2024 and is available to watch below.

“Working on the electric Macan film was so much fun,” Dua reveals. “Nothing was too far-fetched or off the table, so they really let me run wild with it. From dreaming up these concepts that were quite literally out of this world, to seeing them evolve and be brought to life was such a thrill.”

The result is an exciting, absurd, crazy journey into Dua’s imagination, capturing her creative essence. The film features poignant and often humorous vignettes and is a powerful expression of endless possibilities. There are zombies, a runaway bride, a (real) scorpion, car chases, a trip to the moon, and, of course, a racetrack. As much as an insight into the all-electric Macan, it’s also an opportunity to dive into Dua’s world.

“We really wanted a Dua story that was 100% authentic, that really reflected her fantasy and imagination and that wouldn’t be a typical car commercial. So we thought: let’s let her write that thing herself. It cannot get more ‘Dua’ than that. Porsche was immediately enthusiastic about the idea, as was Dua, and that’s how the whole process got rolling,” shares Ralf Heuel, Chief Creative Officer of Porsche’s lead agency Grabarz & Partner.

Robert Ader, Chief Marketing Officer at Porsche, adds, “With her passion for creativity and vibrant character, Dua Lipa was the perfect partner for Porsche to work with. As an artist, she’s not just a singer and songwriter, she is a real multi-talent who loves to try things out. As a brand, we really wanted to tap into that creative potential.”

Since joining the brand in November 2023, the chart-topping British phenom has already left her mark on Porsche, from her introduction to Porsche cars at the Porsche Experience Center in Los Angeles, to her first official appearance at an internal Porsche event in Singapore, and now with the new all-electric Porsche Macan film.
