With just five weeks until the March 1st release of Weezer‘s highly-anticipated, Black Album, the band is today delivering The Teal Album.The surprise 10-track LP features the band’s viral and chart-topping cover of “Africa” by Toto, as well as new covers of Michael Jackson, TLC, a-ha, The Eurythmics, and few other 80s and 90s gems. Weezer’s forthcoming Black Album is produced by TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek and finds the California-bred band striving for a bold next step in their expansive catalog. Noted as a first for the band, the new album was apparently written entirely on piano by frontman Rivers Cuomo. Two album teasers were released in late 2018, “Zombie Bastards” and “Can’t Knock The Hustle,” with the latter track recently becoming the band’s sixteenth Top Ten on Alternative Radio. Weezer will soon return to the road with Pixies for a run of North American arena dates, including a huge headlining show at Madison Square Garden in NYC with special guests TV On The Radio. The tour ends with the band playing back to back weekends at Coachella before heading to Europe for a few festivals. See the full dates below.
