“Cheap Queen” is the lead single off King Princess’ upcoming debut album

If you’ve been obsessed with King Princess, aka Mikaela Straus, since last year – today is your day– because the rising pop star is back with her latest single, “Cheap Queen.” Led by a downtempo piano, warm synths, and layered vocal samples, the new track finds this runaway breakout artist reflecting on her evolving identity and self-confidence. “Cheap Queen” follows a breakout 2018 for King Princess. Her debut single, “1950,” on Mark Ronson‘s Zelig Records, became an overnight smash hit, accruing over 250 million streams to date. Mikaela’s Make My Bed EP would soon follow and confirm the “Pussy Is God” singer is one most exciting new artists to emerge in recent years.
 

King Princess is currently wrapping up her first headlining tour and will be on a festival run through August, including this weekend at Governors Balllater this month at Bonnaroo, Firefly, Glastonbury, and more.
