Blood is out today on Columbia Records

In February, Kelsey Lu‘s mesmerizing performance at III Points opened our eyes to the unspeakable talent possessed by the young vocalist, cellist, and producer. Now, the rising artist is back to share her highly-anticipated debut album, Blood. The new project marks Lu’s first since the 2016 release of her critically-acclaimed EP, Church on True Panther.

Blood was created with Rodaidh McDonald (The xx, Kanye West) and features additional production from Jamie xx on “Why Knock for You” and “Foreign Car,” Adrian Younge on “Blood” and Skrillex on “Due West.” Blood also features work from Lu’s sister, the violinist Jessica McJunkins.

To celebrate the release of Blood, Lu will play two sold-out headline shows at Los Angeles’ Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Further shows are slated for Arizona’s FORM Festival, San Francisco’s Great American Music Hall, Berlin’s Berghain, London’s Kings Place, Brooklyn’s Afropunk Festival and several dates in Japan this summer.
