Florence + The Machine Release ‘High As Hope’
High As Hope is out now via Republic Records
Indie rockers Florence + The Machine are back today with their fourth studio album, High As Hope. The album, which was co-produced by Florence and Emile Haynie (Bruno Mars, Lana Del Rey), features the previously-released singles “Hunger” — currently #1 on AAA radio — “Big God” and “Sky Full of Song.” The album also notes a handful of contributions from Sampha, Tobias Jesso Jr., Jamie xx, Kamasi Washington and a few others.
With High As Hope, we find a much more subdued, yet effortlessly elegant, sound from an otherwise roaring Florence Welch. Grandiose and booming choruses of previous albums are often replaced by soothing and melodic progressions. It’s clear the band is maturing and approaching a new level of comfort and exploration in their sound.
